Racial Justice and Advocacy
YWCA Greater Cincinnati is dedicated to promoting racial equity at all levels by promoting community-driven advocacy, education, direct services, and restorative practice with its racial justice programming.
Racial Justice Breakfast
Since 2001, attendees have experienced discussion of racism’s personal and community-wide effects and heard from keynote speakers who have had a national impact on civil rights. The event celebrates local changemakers with the Racial Justice Awards and provides approved CLEs. Past speakers have included Verna Williams, Dorothy Roberts, Richard Rothstein, Bryan Stevenson and Kimberle’ Crenshaw.
Racial and Gender Equity Training
We offer several types of training to groups, companies, organizations, and more, to further educate our community on America’s foundational issues, and the ways in which we all share a social responsibility to be a part of the individual, institutional, and systemic changes our society needs.
Advocacy
YWCA Greater Cincinnati advocates on public policy that directly advances our mission and vision and promotes our three signature platforms, which are Racial Justice & Civil Rights, Safety of Women and Girls, and Empowerment & Economic Advancement of Women & Girls.
Racial Justice Challenge REWIND
The Racial Justice Challenge is a signature campaign of YWCA USA to build community among those who work for racial justice and to raise awareness about the negative impact of institutional and structural racism in our communities. Through this challenge, we will all stand against racism until justice just is.
